FAIR resources

The canSERV Consortium would like to provide a range of resources to help users make the resulting data from service provision FAIR (Fair, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable) and openly accessible for re-use in future research and other initiatives (e.g., UNCAN). According to the canSERV’s Terms and Conditions all resulting data need to comply with FAIR principles and open data sharing. Publications resulting from the approved projects need to be open access and acknowledge canSERV and resulting data needs to be made available for re-use.

Resources include: repositories and registries, guidelines, playbooks, toolboxes, research portals, and relevant publications.

Repositories and registries

European Chemical Biology Database – European Chemical Biology Database (ECBD) is a central data hub for data generated within the EU-OPENSCREEN network.

BioImage ArchiveThe BioImage Archive is a free, publicly available online resource which stores and distributes biological images. It accepts submissions of data from any imaging modality, as long as the data are either associated with a peer-reviewed publication, or of value beyond a single experiment.

EMPIARDeposition of electron microscopy data.

Image Data ResourceDeposition of reference image datasets with manual metadata curation.

TCIA [The Cancer Imaging Archive]Deposition of cancer imaging data into restricted access repository.

EUCAIMDeposit, access, and process clinical cancer imaging data.

PIDARDeposit metadata for preclinical (animal-model) imaging datasets.

FigshareStoring and sharing research data, figures, papers, and datasets across all disciplines.

DryadPublishing and sharing datasets associated with peer-reviewed research, especially in life sciences and medicine.

European Mouse Mutant Archive (EMMA)EMMA is the INFRAFRONTIER’s non-profit repository for the collection, archiving (via cryopreservation) and distribution of relevant mutant mouse and rat strains essential for basic biomedical research. The comprehensive physical and data resources of EMMA support basic biomedical and preclinical research, and the available research tools and mouse/rat models of human disease offer the opportunity to develop a better understanding of molecular disease mechanisms and may provide the foundation for the development of diagnostic, prognostic and therapeutic strategies. https://doi.org/10.25504/FAIRsharing.g2fjt2

European Genome-phenome Archive (EGA)The European Genome-phenome Archive (EGA) is a service for permanent archiving and sharing of personally identifiable genetic, phenotypic, and clinical data generated for the purposes of biomedical research projects or in the context of research-focused healthcare systems.

WorkflowHUBA registry for describing, sharing and publishing scientific computational workflows.

ZENODOZenodo is a free, open, multi-disciplinary online repository for sharing and preserving all types of research outputs, including publications, datasets, software, and presentations.

Toolboxes

The Research Data Management toolkit for Life SciencesBest practices and guidelines to help you make your data FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable).

FAIR Data Cube – The FAIR Data Cube (FDCube) is a set of tools and services that help researchers in different stages of the Research Data Life Cycle including creating and describing new data, and finding, understanding and reusing existing FAIR multi-omics data.

FAIRsharing – A curated, informative and educational resource on data and metadata standards, inter-related to databases and data policies.

Multiomics Toolbox (MOTBX) – The Multi-omics Toolbox (MOTBX) is an open access web resource to help expedite translational research by making it easier for researchers in academia and industry to find relevant resources related to multi-omics analysis.

Innovation Management Toolbox – The Innovation Management Toolbox is a reference library of resources in rare disease translational medicine.

Research Platform/Portal

cBioportalResearch portal supporting analysis and visualization of cancer genomic data.

OMICS Discover IndexOmics Discovery Index provides a platform for searching and linking omics public data. OmicsDI has implemented a unique and novel Search Engine for omics datasets including public and protected data.
